Round 5 saw the heats reversed, with 13 starting finishing with the top guys in heats 3,2,1 – the timetable a subject for discussion as continual versions appear, causing some confusion amongst the people present at the event. The last round of qualifying once again saw a predictable top 3, with Elliott Boots beating David Ronnefalk’s heat 3 time by 2.5 secs, Ronnefalk suffered a tangle with a crashed backmarker and marshall on the last corner of the last lap, losing him a second, still Boots had enough in hand, who himself ran a slightly richer engine to test – it wasn’t as fast up the straight according to pitman Mike Cradock, but ominously, Boots set the absolute fastest time of the week in the last round a 5:17.375.
The final heat saw Controlled practice top qualifier Dani Bernabe finally pull something out, rescuing a 7th place, however he will likely be disappointed with 21st overall in the standings – missing out on the top 16
